Thank you for your interest in volunteering with CEBECPEN. Our mission is to provide behaviour and social change solutions while transforming lives and developing society by training young people as leaders and entreprenuers; building resilience and adaptive skills, helping them to live in good mental health against Suicide, we meet them at their point of needs, but we can’t do it alone! We need your help to train, mentor, counsel, rehabilitate, raise awareness, empower and heal those who are broken.

Our volunteer opportunities focus on event support, community outreaches, and other activities of the organization. You can work in any position either in-person or remote (online) from any part of the world. However, volunteers must be role models and 18 years or older to join our team.

Career counselors will work with people who have questions about different careers and educational paths to help them in the planning and decision-making process, enabling them to match their innate abilities with available career opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Career Counselors to hold at least a first degree or its equivalents in Guidance and Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or other related disciplines with a specialization in career development.
  2. Licensed Career Counselors although you can be accepted as our volunteer without a licence depending on your expertise and experience.
  3. Willingness to work with us as a team in-person or remotely without pay.
  4. Display of integrity, godliness and personal discipline is an added advantage.

Our Career counselors shall perform a range of duties, including:

  • Administer personality and interest inventories
  • Use achievement and aptitude tests to help clients get a better idea of what they’re good at.
  • Counsel clients who are considering a career change
  • Evaluate clients’ educational and work backgrounds in order to help them determine what they need to do next to achieve their goals
  • Advise students about what courses and educational programs they need for a particular careers.
  • Help clients select the right schools or programs for their needs.
  • Help students locate sources of financial support to pay for school and other training programs.
  • Teach and practice jobs skills such as interviewing, resume writing, and networking.
  • Aid clients in the job search process by teaching them where to look for open positions and connecting them with job search resources.

 

Psychologists/therapists provide a range of services, depending on their personal preferences and areas of expertise. We need specialists in specific forms of psychotherapy, especially cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychoanalytic psychotherapy or other forms of talk therapy. They also might offer psychological testing services, such as IQ testing or tests to determine the presence of a psychological disorder. 

  • You should have excellent stress-management skills and avoid taking your work home with you.
  • Conduct scientific studies of behavior and brain function
  • Observe, interview, and survey contacts
  • Identify psychological, emotional, behavioral, or organizational issues and diagnose disorders
  • Research and identify behavioral or emotional patterns
  • Test for patterns that will help you better understand and predict behavior
  • Discuss the treatment of problems with clients.

As a Project Manager, you will manage key clprograms for the organization. This includes the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. You will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize the progress of any project. We also need you to prepare reports for the organization’s executives regarding the status of any ongoing project.

You will coordinate with other team members to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will hire new talent as needed to ensure the success of a project.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation

  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Report and escalate to organization executives as needed

  • Manage the relationship with all team members on the project

A life coach/ Mentor will act as a wellness professional who helps young people make progress in their lives in order to attain greater fulfillment in every area of their lives. Life coaches/Mentors will aid our clients in improving their relationships, careers, and day-to-day lives.

Life coaches/ Mentors shall help young people clarify goals, identify the obstacles holding them back, and then come up with strategies for overcoming each obstacle.

In creating these strategies, life coaches /Mentors shall target the youth unique skills and gifts.
By helping them to make the most of their strengths, life coaches/Mentors shall provide the support they need to achieve long-lasting change socially and behaviourally.

Our lifecoaches/ Mentors shall take specialize but all-encompassing approach on helping young people in specific areas such as:

  • Addiction and sobriety coaching
  • Business, executive, and leadership coaching
  • Career coaching
  • Dating and relationship coaching
  • Diet and fitness coaching

Qualifications:

  1. Certificate in a life coach training program or degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Sciences and Humanities shall be considered.
  2. Your expertise and experience working with young people from various backgrounds shall also be considered.
  3. Your readiness to work remotely without pay with integrity, professionally and self discipline is very important.

Being a life coach/Mentor involves more than offering tips or advice to your client. Life coaching requires you to get to know your clients quickly, assess their goals efficiently and formulate strategies to help them meet their goals.

As a life coach, you’ll deal with each client’s issues on an individual basis and determine the proper strategy for their needs. Depending on where you work and the type of client you work with, your responsibilities will vary.

Duties shall include but not limited to:

  • Meet with clients to discuss needs and goals.
  • Develop strategies and plans for clients.
  • Keep records of client progress.
  • Meet with and evaluate clients.
  • Adjust clients’ goal strategies as needed.

Today in Nigeria, about one in four or five adults are experiencing mental illness at any given time, and research shows that close to 50% of adults will have at least one mental illness during their lifetime.

The prevalence of mental health problems highlights the demand and need for qualified professionals to diagnose, treat, and prevent mental health issues.

Our Mental health counselors work with people dealing with cognitive, behavioral, and emotional issues.

Mental health Counselors will work with individuals, families, groups, and communities to deal with mental health issues and improve mental well-being.

Qualifications:

The basic qualification is a first degree in Psychology, a psychiatrist, medical practitioner or a licensed mental health counselor.

Those with master’s degree in counseling and at least two to three years of supervised practice under a licensed professional will be considered.
The Mental Health Counselor must be compassionate and caring with readiness to work without pay.

Some duties that a mental health counselor may undertake on a regular basis include:

  • Assessing and diagnosing clients experiencing symptoms of psychological distress
  • Providing psychotherapy to clients
  • Talking to clients about their experiences, emotions, and thoughts.
  • Conducting group sessions with families
  • Working with clients to set goals, develop a treatment plan, and gain insight through treatment.
  • Working with clients to identify situations, behaviors, and thoughts that interfere with their wellness and recovery.
  • Examining social issues that may influence a client’s mental well-being, including peer pressure, bullying, substance use, prejudice, work stress, financial challenges, and health issues
  • Referring clients to other health professionals as well as to other resources in the community such as other social services, job services, and support groups.

A mental health advocate is a sub-classification of the job category known as patient’s rights advocacy. As a mental health advocate, you will assist individuals being treated for mental illness and help them in dealing with a wide variety of problematic issues during their illness like feeding, relationship with work/study partners intervening with physicians or hospitals, and generally serving to manage and fight for the rights of the contact in view.

You will also ensure the rights of any person the organization is helping are not violated in any way.

  • Help contacts develop coping skills during psychotherapy
  • Share inspiring stories on all platforms to encourage positive mental health practices.
  • Educate the public about correct terms regarding mental health issues.
  • Mentor people on healthy lifestyles that boost mental health and encourage them with resources that can help.  
  • Investigate child abuse or neglect cases and take authorized protective action when necessary.
  • Attend press conferences and represent the organization in social and professional events.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key government officials and legal practitioners to help with cases of abuse of contacts dealing with mental health issues.
  • Identify environmental impediments to contact’s proper functioning mentally.

Relationship Counselors will help young people to understand the nitty gritty of interpersonal relationships, help them to overcome relationship crisis, assist youths to build Godly, fruitful and productive relationships as well as help couples to understand their strengths and gain better insight into their relationship against conflicts and divorce.

In other words, Our relationship counseling will help couples of all types to explore, recognize, and resolve conflicts in an effort to improve their relationships and interactions for better understanding, enjoyment and togetherness.

The relationship counsellor/therapist will also help intending couples through the difficult decision making process before marriage and ‘facilitate’ change from what is happening to them at any point, in decision-making and help them communicate in a way in which they can learn to listen and talk to each other.

Qualifications:

  1. You must possess at least a first degree in Psychology, Social work, or related disciplines.
  2. Be a licensed Relationship or Marriage counselor. However, a gift, experience or expertise in this area may be considered.
  3. You must be willing to work with us as a team in-person or remotely without pay with our specific terms and conditions.
  • To provide counseling services to couples that have issues that need to be addressed in their relationship or marriage; it may involve individual counseling for both partners, couples counseling together, and family counseling with any children the couple may have. The focus here is typically on the dynamics of the family and how the relationships between family members are contributing to dysfunction.
  • To determine the cause of the problems between marriage partners, counselors may conduct educational programming with clients, such as martial enrichment courses, to improve communication skills or to build trust.
  • To Diagnose mental disorders where necessary; This includes administering tests to determine a client’s level of mental health, the presence of personality disorders, or even the presence of an intellectual disability.
  • Relationship counselors must be versed in interpreting the results of these tests, using those results to devise treatment programs, and working with clients to successfully complete their treatment program in order to have a more stable and fulfilling marriage.
  • Relationship Counselors may be required to work specifically with couples and families that have been impacted by alcohol, drugs, or domestic violence.
  • Relationship counselors may refer one or both members of the marital relationship to treatment programs, such as a residential facility, to get clean.
  • Relationship counselors will work with spouses that have been abused in order to help them overcome the trauma of the abuse they have suffered at the hands of a loved one.
  • Relationship Counselors is to work with spouses that have committed abusive acts in order to help them work through the anger or other underlying issues that led to their behavior.

 

We need an experienced, passionate and creative Social Media Manager to join our team. As a Social Media Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing our Social Media strategy in order to increase our online presence and improve our brand equity.

You will be working closely with Marketing and Sales departments.

  • Active Listening  and giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Offer support and services to those struggling with unhealthy grounding techniques
  • Collaborate with other professionals to evaluate patients’ medical or physical condition and to assess contact’s needs.
  • Advocate for contacts to resolve crises.
  • Refer contact or family to community resources to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness and to provide access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement or education.
  • Investigate child abuse or neglect cases and take authorized protective action when necessary.
  • Plan discharge from a care facility to home or other care facility.
  • Identify environmental impediments to contact’s  progress through interviews and review of patient records.
  • Organize support groups or counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting the contact in view.

Leadership development specialists typically have accountability for analyzing, designing, developing, delivering and evaluating leadership development programs for our organization.

Leadership development specialists schedule, run and evaluate seminars, workshops and self-paced trainings,

Expertise in coaching, change management, performance monitoring and business acumen enable a potential candidate to distinguish themselves during the interviewing and hiring process.

 

Qualifications

  1. Our leadership development specialist must have experience working with different organizations with expertise to develop and execute leadership development programs.
  2. Experience in instructional design processes to ensure the cost-effective creation, implementation and continual improvement of our leadership development programs, enabling our clients to have the right leadership development training that will inspire, develop and make them suitable for leadership positions.
  3. Leadership development specialist must possess the prerequisite qualifications as well as a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree with at least five years’ experience in leadership training.
  4. Expertise in handling Human Resources issues such as career development, performance management, character and personality development are added advantages.
